STAR Ultrasonic Pest Repeller

I do not know if this thing is working. It's easy to install, but there's no way to tell if it works. There is a switch on the side for high and low, and a light on the front to show it's on. As I said though, there is no way to tell if it's working. It makes no noise and admits no smell so it's rather safe to use. If I could change a few things about this thing it would be adding different lights for when it senses a bug it turns yellow or something like that.

Update: I do not think it is working. We discovered a spider yesterday in the room that the device is plugged in.

Avon Biz

I recently was given a free pass to try the Avon Rep. thing. So far I've only got one customer, but I'm happy about it. I received some products in my start up kit, and I was thinking about selling them. I decided to use them instead.
First off I got some amazing hand lotion. It came in a long tube and was really easy to open. I cannot remember the name of it at the moment. It does have a smell, but it's not overpowering. I used it once on my hands and a few times on my feet. It works great, but it is a tad on the oily side.
I also got a small container of refining cream. Now this stuff does have a smell. It's very perfume like. Luckily the smell isn't strong enough to cause your eyes to water or anything. The cream goes on smooth, and feels good. It is not greasy oily or anything like that.
lastly in my bow I received body oil from Skin So Soft. The oil comes in a spray bottle. While you shower (or after) you just spray it on your skin. It locks in all that moister from the shower and leaves your skin so soft. (They are actually having a special on the whole Skin So Soft line). It too has a perfume like smell, but if you use it in the shower the smell doesn't over power the shower gel/ body wash you use.

The adventures of robin hood

The adventures of robin hood (1938) is one of the finest, most colorful costume dramas, swashbucklers, and romantically-tinged journey movies in film records. After the icy restrictions positioned on the movie industry following the established order of the manufacturing code management (breen office) within the mid Thirties, warner bros. Studios determined to locate alleviation from censorship with the aid of bringing about a renaissance of the historical-costume adventure film, with swordplay, sweeping motion, and romantic appeal.

Although its essential star had portrayed a similar position in captain blood (1935) with the same dynamic director, michael curtiz, this movie mounted 29 12 months-old actor errol flynn as a rushing, gallant, romantic, impudent however light-hearted, athletic mythical adventure hero - it's far the errol flynn image and the definitive movie portraying the robin hood legend. This was another of the twelve films that Curtiz ultimately directed with Flynn as star. director michael curtiz became brought in through studio executives to fast update william keighley when incapacitated by using infection, in keeping with range, while different sources claimed that curtiz become chosen to create more attractive, impactful, speedy-moving and motion-oriented content while keighley couldn't meet the tight manufacturing time table. Both administrators received display credit score for his or her work.

It expertly tells the tale of the heroic robin and his sherwood woodland followers, who saved england from royal treachery with the aid of scheming nobles at some point of the absence of the crusading and captured-ransomed king richard the lion-hearted. And it tells the fairy-tale romance with nostalgic chivalry, colourful pageantry, simple righteousness victorious over villainous and evil might, and dazzling motion.

There have been at least six silent era tries on the tale. The reginald de koven-harry b. Smith mild opera model of robin hood was originally offered in 1890. And douglas fairbanks starred because the infamous outlaw hero and wallace beery as richard the lion-hearted in an early silent version of the movie directed via allan dwan - robin hood (1922), reportedly the most expensive movie made as much as that time (at $1.6 - 2 million). In addition to his daring stunt paintings (sliding down a drapery, undertaking archery and swordsmanship, and other acrobatic feats), fairbanks wrote the screenplay (with pseudonym elton thomas) for the short moving, epic silent film full of medieval pageantry.

The 1938 warner bros. Film is expensively established (at $2 million, it was the studio's biggest budgeted movie), and fantastically photographed in glorious and brilliant, 3-strip technicolor (warners' first use of coloration) by way of cinematographers sol polito and tony gaudio, especially in the sherwood forest collection [filmed in Bidwell Park in Chico, California and other scenes of costumed pageantry. During preliminary plans for the film, it was originally expected that James Cagney would star as the legendary outlaw and contract player Guy Kibbee would play Friar Tuck.

The spectacle consists of splendid casting of memorable characters, a light-hearted, however lively tale, exciting dueling and movement scenes requiring full-size stunt work, and the precise love crew of de havilland and gallant flynn with their witty and smooth romantic scenes collectively. [It was their third of eight films together - the first two were Captain Blood (1935) and The Charge of the Light Brigade (1936) - and this was the first of their pairings in color.] flynn did most of his personal dueling and other movement stunts except for the expert archery shooting, and became coached with the aid of fencing grasp fred cavens.

Oscar-winning erich wolfgang korngold (who won his 2nd award) created the richly orchestrated, lush score that correctly provided the musical backdrop for the movement and the wealthy settings, and the literate screenplay become co-written by contract author norman reilly raine (who won the academy award in 1938 for the prestigious the existence of emile zola (1937)) and seton i. Miller (who changed into co-author of the sea hawk (1940), some other flynn swashbuckler).

The film changed into nominated for four academy awards: nice interior route (carl j. Weyl), nice authentic score (erich wolfgang korngold), high-quality film enhancing (ralph dawson), and fine picture, and misplaced best its nice image reputation to frank capra's you cannot take it with you (1938).

Disney produced  robin hood versions: the story of robin hood and his merrie men (1952) (disney's second made-in-britain production) and the animated robin hood (1973). And hammer studios produced 3 robin hood movies in the 1950s and 1960s: men of sherwood forest (1957), sword of sherwood woodland (1960), and a venture for robin hood (1968). The 1938 movie had a sequel of kinds, robin and marian (1976), with sean connery and audrey hepburn as middle-aged enthusiasts. And kevin costner starred because the identify person in kevin reynolds' robin hood: prince of thieves (1991).
The tale
All through the titles and credits, the viewer is knowledgeable that the quasi-historical story of the rogue outlaw is "based totally upon historical robin hood legends," even though the film additionally borrowed from old english ballads and sir walter scott's 1819 novel ivanhoe, with its emphasis at the oppressive treatment of the saxons by using the norman knights.

Historically, Richard left England in late 1189, continued onto the Holy Land in mid 1190, was seized by Austria in late 1192, and returned to England (in a state processional acknowledged publicly) in March, 1194, when Prince John was in France (or Normandy). The Prince's Nottingham Castle was seized by King Richard himself while John was still absent.

The movie opens with a lengthy ancient prologue, setting the movie's time period in past due twelfth century england:

Inside the year of our lord 1191, when richard, the lion-coronary heart, set forth to pressure the infidels from the holy land, he gave the regency of his nation to his depended on pal, longchamp, in preference to to his treacherous brother, prince john. Bitterly resentful, john hoped for some disaster to befall richard in order that he, with the help of the norman barons, would possibly capture the throne for himself. And then on a luckless day for the saxons...

A proclamation is read by using a city crier to a crowd that information has arrived from vienna that king richard the lion hearted (ian hunter) has been captured in austria by using emperor leopold and held for ransom even as getting back from the 1/3 campaign in the holy land. The information at nottingham castle is welcomed by using richard's brother, the sly, scheming, evil and despotic prince john (claude rains) - who has usurped strength and declared himself regent of britain (inheritor-obvious to the british throne) with the aid of self-appointment at some stage in the king's absence and imprisonment. [The motion picture, beyond its entertainment value, also served warnings against oppression toward the dictators of the late 1930s - counterparts of Prince John.]

Ruthless sir guy of gisbourne (basil rathbone) - the ruler of the metropolis of nottingham, the ineffectual excessive sheriff of nottingham (melville cooper), and different ruling norman nobles and knights within the upper magnificence (with prince john) plot to brutally subjugate and overtax the saxons (pretending that the money pays the king's ransom) and take over strength within the kingdom.

In sherwood woodland positioned near the metropolis of nottingham [filmed in Chico, California's Bidwell Park], sir guy and a group of knights find out a good deal the miller's son (herbert mundin) poaching a royal deer, an offense punishable with the aid of death. When requested if he is aware of "it's demise to kill the king's deer," a whole lot replies indignantly, denouncing their tyranny:

Sure, and death from hunger if i don't, thanks to you and the rest of you norman cutthroats at nottingham fort...You can beat and starve our saxons now, but while king richard escapes, he's going to take you through the scruff of the neck and fling you into the ocean.

Gisbourne moves to strike a lot with his mace, but the weapon is shot out of his hand by way of an arrow out of the bow of the speeding, athletic, and heroic sir robin of locksley (errol flynn). Robin, carrying a green outfit with brown woodman's cap and looking boots had considered the whole come across with partner will scarlet (patric knowles). Gisbourne additionally threatens robin with the dying penalty for opposing him. Robin asks: "are there no exceptions?" as he attracts a 2d arrow and objectives it at gisbourne's heart, forcing him to backtrack and gallop off along with his birthday party of knights. Grateful for having his existence saved, a whole lot pledges himself to robin's carrier:

From at the moment on, i'll follow handiest you. Why there is not a bad saxon in all of nottinghamshire that doesn't realize and bless sir robin of locksley. Take me as your servant. Why in all of the woodland, there isn't always a hunter as good as me. I ask no pay, simply to follow you.

To introduce the next memorable scene, any other description:

The extremely good bloodless corridor of nottingham castle, the stronghold of sir man gisbourne, knew an unaccustomed warm temperature this night, for prince john and his buddies had been met to rejoice a promising future.

Prince john holds an extravagant evening dinner party at nottingham citadel for the ruling norman barons which might be helping him in his conspiracy. Prince john speaks to the accumulated throng:

Properly, that is what we normans like - desirable meals, precise company, and a lovely woman to flatter me.

At the pinnacle table with prince john is the lovable norman ward of king richard (before he left on the 1/3 campaign), the reputedly demure and harmless, yet regal lady marian fitzwalter (olivia de havilland). She is an fallacious healthy for an organized marriage with gisbourne. With tongue-in-cheek humor, the matchmaker prince john shows gisbourne for her love interest, but she graciously defers:

Prince john: changed into it profitable, coming with me from london to see what stout fellows our nottingham pals are? Take sir guy. He's from london, certainly one of our most famend defenders of the area.
Marian: have to i take him, your highness?
Prince: why, you want him, don't you?
Marian: well, he's a norman, of route.
Prince: is that the most effective cause for liking him?
Marian: is not that motive enough for a royal ward...?
Prince: nay, i no longer pressure you, my female. However he is our most effective pal in these shires. And he's already in love with you. If i could promise him marriage to a royal ward, it would assist my plans.
Marian: perhaps when I recognize him better.
Prince: of route. You're a totally smart younger female.

Without actual difficulty or sincerity, the prince asks all people: "any more objections to the new tax from our saxon friends?" one of the nobles responds:

Noble: objections your highness? With a saxon dangling from each gallows tree...?
Prince john: well stated...However no longer too many thoughts, else we will have no one left to till our land or pay the tax.

Sir guy gisbourne tells of his come across with the infamous sir robin of locksley - one saxon noble he is not able to subdue. The prince responds that he has heard "precious little else due to the fact i've been here." then he asks: "what is his latest outrage?" sir guy admits it changed into something of a problem for him to take him prisoner. Female marian demurs and mocks him: "a saxon a hassle?" robin is considered:

...A reckless rogue who goes around the shires stirring up the saxons against authority, and he has the insolence to set himself up because the protector of the people.

The prince orders his sheriff of nottingham to immediately capture robin and hang him.

At this point, introducing himself with a dramatic front, the good-looking, however uninvited, devil-may additionally-care robin all of sudden bursts via the gate to the notable banquet hall with the body of a slain deer draped throughout his shoulders. Robin throws the deer on the desk earlier than host prince john, who reacts in an amused, gracious fashion:

Let him technique...By way of my religion, but you're a bold rascal. Robin. I really like you.

Robin is introduced to the lovely woman marian - she right away detests his business enterprise: "what you wish can infrequently be crucial!" regular of the complete movie's jocular tone, robin replies wittily:

What a pity your manners do not suit your appears, your highness.

The prince invites robin to sit in a chair at the desk in front of him, and orders:

Prince john: deliver sir robin meals! Without delay do you pay attention. Such impudence ought to support a robust urge for food.
Robin: real enough, your highness. We saxons have little to fatten on by the time your tax gatherers are through.

The sheriff asks robin if he feels the saxons are overtaxed, to which he honestly replies:

Robin: overtaxed, overworked and paid off with a knife, a membership or a rope.
Marian: why, you speak treason.
Robin: fluently.

Concerned inside the evil machinations of the prince, the bishop of the black canons (montagu love) retorts: "i might advocate you to slash that wagging tongue of yours!" woman marian is unimpressed by means of robin's treasonous sports, even if robin boldly proclaims resistance: "we saxons are not going to position up with these oppressions a great deal longer." prince john explains the motives for the taxes - to accumulate the ransom to launch the king from imprisonment through emperor leopold. He additionally declares he has deposed longchamps as regent and appointed himself to take fee.

Film assessment: ‘splendor and the beast’

Disney's live-motion remake of its 1991 animated conventional, starring emma watson as a pitch-best belle, is a every so often entrancing, every so often awkward aggregate of re-introduction and reimagining.

You could say that the perception of turning beloved stories and characters into brands was invented through walt disney. He constructed his empire at the picture of mickey mouse (who made his debut in 1928), but disney sincerely patented the logo idea in 1955, with the launch of disneyland, wherein children should see old acquainted characters  mickey! Snow white!  in a totally distinctive context, which made them new. Twenty-3 years in the past, the broadway version of “splendor and the beast” (followed 3 years later with the aid of the broadway version of “the lion king”) brought a unique form of re-branding: the stage-musical-primarily based-on-an-animated-feature. Now the studio is introducing a cinematic cousin to that shape with the deluxe new movie model of “splendor and the beast,” a $one hundred sixty million stay-movement re-imagining of the 1991 disney animated traditional. It’s a lovingly crafted film, and in many methods a good one, but earlier than that it’s an enraptured piece of antique-is-new nostalgia.

There’s a lot driving on “beauty and the beast.” given its sheer novelty price (the stay-movement “cinderella” launched via disney in 2015 wasn’t simply cued to the 1950 caricature model), the picture appears destined to attain decisively on the box office. But the large question placing over it is: how major how paradigm-moving  can this new shape be? Is it a fad or a revolution? Disney already has a live-movement “lion king” inside the works, however it remains to be seen whether remodeling lively features into dramas with sets and actors can be an inspired, or important, format for the destiny.

Going into “beauty and the beast,” the sheer interest element exerts a uniquely extreme entice. Is the movie as transporting and witty a romantic myth as the lively authentic? Does it fall crucially short? Or is it in some ways better? The answer, at one of a kind factors within the movie, is yes to all 3, but the bottom line is that this: the brand new “beauty and the beast” is a touching, eminently watchable, at times barely awkward experience that justifies its lifestyles yet never absolutely convinces you it’s a movie the arena turned into waiting for.

A terrific lively fairy story is, of direction, greater than just a movie it’s a whole universe. The shape become invented by using disney eighty years in the past, with “snow white and the seven dwarfs” (1937), a movie i still think has by no means been surpassed, and whilst you watch something as transporting as “snow white” or “bambi,” or “toy tale,” or “splendor and the beast”  every gesture and background and choreographed flourish, from the facial expressions to the drip-drop of water, flows collectively with a poetic team spirit. That’s the catchy miracle of tremendous animation.

When you watch the new “splendor and the beast,” you’re in a prosaic universe of dark and stormy units, one that looks plenty like different (stagy) films you’ve seen. The visible design, mainly within the beast’s majestic curlicued fort, is gentrified gothic  tim burton de-quirked. At the start, whilst belle (emma watson) walks out of her residence and wanders thru the village singing “belle,” that lovable lyrical meet-the-day ode that mingles optimism with a craving for some thing greater, the photographs and beats are all in region, the spirit is there, you may see inside 15 seconds that emma watson has the correct perky soulfulness to deliver your dream of belle to life and nonetheless, the range seems like some thing out of 1 of these overly bustling big-display musicals from the past due ’60s that helped to bury the studio gadget. It’s now not that the director, invoice condon (“dreamgirls,” “the twilight saga”), does whatever too clunky or rectangular. It’s that the fabric loses its slapstick spryness while it’s not animated. The series isn’t bad, it’s simply…wellknown.

That’s authentic of most of the primary a part of the movie, proper up until the point while belle rescues her kindly inventor father, maurice (kevin kline), from the beast’s castle  wherein he’s being held prisoner for having assaulted a flower  by means of trading locations with him. Belle, a wistful bookworm, is the extraordinary woman out in her village, and he or she has already brushed off several encounters with gaston (luke evans), the duplicitous hunk who have become a new disney archetype (in “frozen,” and so on.): the good-looking, big-chinned, icky monomaniacal two-confronted suitor. On first assembly, however, the beast seems nearly as dark. He’s a prince who became cursed and was a monster for having no love in him, and the quality aspect about the movie  as well as its biggest divergence from the animated version  is that he’s a strikingly downbeat person, a petulant and morose romantic trapped in a frame that makes him feel nothing less than doomed.

OOo La La

Have you heard of Melaleuca? If no, you are missing out. They have 100% natural products made here in the USA. I recently purchased these three things of nail polish from Melaleuca. Every time I buy nail polish it is either too thin or it takes WAY too long to dry. These were perfect. They are true to their color, they dry fast, and last quite a while. I only really needed one coat but I always do two. These colors have a nice glossy finish, and with a top coat it gets shinier. As far as the colors go they don't seem to stain the nail.

Vipon

How many of you know Amazon Review Trader? If you are a member you know that they've changed their name to Vipon. I personally like the new name and look of their site. I do not like the fact that they have completely screwed it up. Instead of coupon codes that actually work you get to email the sellers. If you can get them to answer back you may get lucky enough to purchase the item at the discounted price. If your experience is anything like mine you get approved for about five or six items in a given week, and only about 48% of the codes you receive work. Of the other 52% after contacting the sellers only 15% of the time do they respond and give me a new code.
They've also kept with the unmonitored help section. You can try to figure out your problems through their help center or just not at all. It would be great to actually get to talk to some one from Vipon about the problems you're having right? Unfortunately they don't think so.

Have you had any problems with Vipon? Let me know about it.
